Diggings
Verdant meadow steeped in dust drenched haze
Abundance marred, ripped raw
Scattered furrowed dark ochre
Foreboding, earth thrust skyward
Heart torn out in dying light
Substance turned to death stilled in time
Fleeting moment drawn on
As wind whirled pylons sprout
Wide blades soar to tumble energy from air
Stand proud to loudly proclaim far and near
The land subdued, bestrode by technology
Our future, onward journey marked
Forever, future wind will mechanically hum
Creation hear our fate, sealed in cold steel
Weep with us, for mis-spent stewardship
Zephyr song drowned by humankind
