Moonlight

Dark night;
Stark light;
Street bright;
Car beams, dazzling flight.
Rushing; headlong –
clamour filled;
Populating the familiar swiftly moving on.
Recognised; but unheeded, yammer and bustle:
Accepted; but ignored –
Unconsciously drums to the frenzy of the day;
Beyond halogen gleam.
Velvet dark sky;
Paused in stillness;
Gem pierced;
Ancient procession – wide curve of cloud; soft glowed;
Gentle wrap of masked moonlight – opens the mind.
Infinite precision, excises numbness with visitation, quests,
Who passed here? In what purpose did they hurry?
Looked up in wonder: paused by soft vastness;
Creation – silently paraded.
Folded in delicate beauty; requires –
Unspoken thanks for smallness encompassed by infinite care.
Thought joined to thought;
Time stilled;
Grasps future and past; with –
Other eyes, rejoices in myriad gems processing.
Warmed in the cold night; by the long gentle tide of joy,
Silently, joined with the age old chorus – praises love in frost chilled air.
