Jewel Sky

Chill earth, paused dark shadow,
Deep velvet night,
Stretches long in jewel sky,
Glowed clouds edge star bright,
Moon shine bathed,
Soft frost grows,
Coating each twig,
Sparkle expands.
Stone hard earth waits,
Lessening of night,
Pause, breath hard cold air,
Revel in jewel sky,
In the lonely expanse of night.
Joy unalloyed in the pause.
