Pause, Look, Listen, Stand

Pause in the hurry, of life’s constant rush,
Breath a while, the chill winter air,
Pause, Look, take note of surroundings,
Take note, of snowdrop’s nod,
See that small detail so quickly passed,
Give thought to looking, do not ignore,
Pause, Look, Listen, hear beyond clatter,
Tune out the wall of information’s urging,
Listen well to the small sounds overlooked,
Hear the rustles of leaves, breezes’s song,
The chill breeze speaks in stillness,
Pause, Look, Listen, Stand, still –
To drink in cool calm of a winter day,
Here is hope, in stillness of the moment,
The joy of waiting, turned from hurry,
Restorative is Pause, Look, Listen, Stand,
Soak up the winter’s chill, note iced breaths,
Then unhurried continue on your way,
Enjoy the refreshment of stillness.
