Summer Rain

Summer rain falls, falling from leaf canopy,
Softly soaking moss grown earth
Gray clouds scurry chilling summer day.
Birds sit ruffled against summer raindrops,
Summer rain puddle and run together,
Massing from breeze shaken flowers,
Dull days and chilled nights remind of passing seasons.
Moving on in slowly shortening days,
Autumn looms through verdant green.
Seasons revolve in regularity toward harvest.
Summer rain falls, subduing bustle.
Cloud tears falling softly masking blue sky.
Dull days washed clean by summer rain.
