Winter Sentinal
Full shining orb encompassed deep in velvet black
Encrusted round with jewels bright
Casts silvered shadows in frost chilled night
As sinks dank earth into torpor
Whilst cold drives marrow deep
Life drains an answer, in shimmering frost
As ice clothed world throws down its verdant garlands
Summer’s surfit crackling crisp
Numberless fires of russet, bronze, tan and amber
These coppery taints drawn cold as life
Breath held in hopes for lengthening days
